Welcome to the web site of DEEP—a research consortium aimed at reducing exposure to diesel exhaust in underground mining.

In the period of 1997-2002, DEEP conducted a number of research projects related to the measurement and control of diesel emissions in underground mines. At this time our research program is nearly completed. We expect to publish our final report some time in 2006. We have been also developing a series of technology transfer documents which describe our experience in plain English in an attempt to make it available to the entire mining community.

We intend to maintain this web site for several years after the completion of DEEP to enable sharing of our experience over the internet.
